On Tuesday 9th February we participated in Safer Internet Day. Our ICT teacher David Nettleton led a live whole school session delivered in tutor groups via Teams. Students were faced with a variety of scenarios that they may face when using the internet, and discussed with David and their peers collectively how to make decisions about the best way to deal with those situations, or the appropriate source of action. It gave students the opportunity to improve their awareness of potentially harmful situations online and allowed them to discuss openly with their peers and staff the context of each situation. They were encouraged to share their knowledge on ways to stay safe, things to be wary of online and how to safeguard themselves.
